CHINESE MOORS

Far Eastern moors

The differences between the broadtail moor and the Far Eastern moor (black dragon eye) can be observed by comparing the pictures of British fish with the pictures above of moors photographed in Hong Kong (December 2000) and at BAS 2009: the latter fish have superb eye development and deep black colouration, rounded pectoral and pelvic fins and the deeply forked tail characteristic of oriental twintails.

Fantail-style moors

fantail moors 2003

Unusual moors with fantail-style finnage. These fish have superb colour and eye development; they also have a very slight ryukin-style dorsal hump and could perhaps equaly well be called black demekins. (Photographed in December 2003).
