CHINESE CALICO AND VARIEGATED ORANDAS
Photographed in Hong Kong, 2003, 2006, 2010 and 2012
Variegated red-white orandas
Variegated red-white metallic orandas, close to the Western standards for body shape and finnage but with deeply forked tails. Photographed in Hong Kong 2010.
Red-white variegated orandas, some also with black colouring. Photographed in Hong Kong 2007.
Calico orandas
Typical Far Eastern calico orandas with good calico colouration and shorter, rounder finnage with forked tails. The top two fish were photographed in 2012 and the bottom two in 2006.
Red and black orandas
Nearly all young goldfish have much black colouration and lose it as they mature, but these strains retain the black colouration into adulthood.
Tricolour orandas
Rare tricolour orandas, black-white-red in the top two pictures and black-white-brown in the bottom picture (together with black-and-red orandas). These tricolour fish are gradually becoming more available.
